About Silae Connected Spreadsheets

Silae takes an interface that's familiar - spreadsheets - and supercharges it by automatically populating it with real-time data and insights from your factory floor.

At its core is a set of tables with live data. Silae Connected Spreadsheets offer powerful templates built on top of this data to help you track production, loss time and more.

Silae Connected Spreadsheets can be set to automatically mail you reports every evening.

The spreadsheets are secure, stay in your company folders and can be accessed only by authorized staff within the organization using same credentials as for rest of the platform.

Using Silae Connected Sheets

A screen like this will open when you click on the links below. Just click 'Make a copy' and the template will be copied into your drive.

This section lists Silae connected sheets that are currently available.

To use, just click on the link for a connected sheet. If you've logged into a Google account, you will see an option to copy the sheet to your drive. 

Once the sheet is copied to your drive, open the tab related to data and refresh this. 

That's it. Your sheet is ready to use.

Loss Time Reports

The Loss Time report enables you to be in the know of loss times at your production floors, maintain auto generated daily records in your company folders and share access to authorized staff within the organization.

This template comes natively connected with your Silaé Data Platform and can be used to easily fetch, track and keep records of productivity bottlenecks faced by your production floor staff along with the reason codes such as: no feeding, low manpower, quality issues, and more.

Auto Count Production Reports (Beta Version)

The Auto Count (Beta Version) of Daily Production Report (DPR) removes dependency on operator reporting the production counts by auto estimating the cycle times and machine utilization patterns for each operation. This enables you to be in the know of granular production at your production floors and benchmark the real time estimate against the slowly moving other formats of reports from your production floor.

Like other templates, you can maintain auto generated daily records in your company folders and share access to authorized staff within the organization.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is in a template?

Built on Google Sheets, Silaé connected sheets include built-in features, no-code automations, auto updating data, and more.

How does it work?

Silaé connected sheets are designed to be truly plug and play and are very simple to use. All you need is to download a copy of the template and they are ready for you to start using them by signing-in with your Silaé authenticated login credentials .

The templates natively connect so you do not have to do anything beyond that.   

Is my data shared along with the templates?

No. Your data is protected as per our privacy policy.

All data in the templates is populated using permission controlled Silae Data Feeds.

When you copy a template, Silae only copies the required formulae. When you refresh data, Silae will get data from your credentials.

Can I share a file I have copied with others? Will they also be able to use the template?

Once you refresh and populate the data, the connected sheet will save it as you would save an Excel sheet. 

If you share the file with a team member, they will be able to see the data that's already in the template.

However, if they try doing a refresh, the sheet will not update unless they too have the required permissions.

Are these templates free?

Yes. The templates are made available for free. 


You can use the fully integrated and ready to use templates to supercharge your factory's reporting system. 

However, automated update of the data only work if your factory workstations are upgraded with Silae Smart Factory sensors.

I am not a Silaé customer. Can I still use these templates?

Yes. The templates are free and you can use them even if you are not a Silaé customer. You would benefit by having a ready reference to add to your inventory of internal reporting presentations and spreadsheets. 

However, Silae customers benefit from auto generation and auto updates of these reports. The source data tables are connected natively to Silaé Digital Twin platform enabling automation of your reporting process so that your managers can focus on addressing the gaps and improving the processes and not on filling in data in the reports.
